Here’s a letter from the amazing Cheryl:
Dearest Knitters,
If you haven’t begun your holiday knitting now would be a good time to start! With the extra savings you’re about to experience at Diva Knitting you’ll be able to make something special for everyone on your list!
One little catch…your order will not ship until November 8th and customer service is also unavailable during that time.
Please feel free to pass this email on to your knitting and crochet friends. The code is ChristmasInNovember. You MUST enter this code in the coupon space at check out to receive 15% off your order. We cannot apply the code after you have already ordered.
Order as often as you like from now until November 6th you can get an additional 15% your entire order! Hurry in so you’ll have your pick of the best selection!
There are only a few restrictions…this offer is only good for IN STOCK merchandise. You must check the individual product page (see example in link…scroll towards the bottom the in stock number is on the left side across from the add to cart button) to see how many units are in stock. It is NOT valid on the Glimakra swift (it’s free shipping and it’s heavy) or special order items. You may only use one coupon per order (no additional coupons are valid with this offer).
Everything else is fair game! Cashmere! Silk! Wool! Knitting bags! Many of our items are already priced below retail so here is your chance to get an especially good deal. You can still place special order items or the swift in your order but the coupon will only work for the in stock items.
Happy Shopping and Knitting!

Is anyone going to see the movie this weekend? I read the book when it first came out. It’s brilliantly written and truly disturbing–mostly because it’s true.
It’s funny how the little things are what bothered me the most. Purina Dog Chow. I’m just sayin’.
Edited to add: I went tonight to see the movie. The acting was great, and I read in a review that Augusten himself was pleased. It was very true to the book, and that wasn’t always pretty. Jill Clayburgh was marvelous. My friend who hadn’t read the book loved it and wants to borrow the book from me now.
I give it a thumbs up as well.
*Zizzors –that’s what my son used to call them.

I’ll sit on the couch in my Nick & Nora’s and read Bloglines. I am such a Scarlett O’Hara (only without the hoop skirts and handsome Southern husband).
Some thoughts. Has everyone watched the video from the previous post? If you haven’t, go do that first. I’ll wait.
Seen it? Okay, Bob Newhart’s advice is now a part of the chez Bluey culture. Keep that in mind.
I understand with Hallowe’en approaching our thoughts turn to frights and gross-outs. I’m all about the former, but I have to tell you no I have no truck with the latter. I’ll watch Blair Witch, but never will my eyes behold Saw or any of it’s counterparts. My definition of scary is seeing a ‘bowel of grits’ on a diner menu or somebody’s dad wearing black dress socks with his shorts. Or these monkeys:

I said all that to say this. A couple of times in the past few days, I’ve heard stories (which I started to tell you and can’t even bring myself to type) which involve people being consumed–not by guilt–but by their pets (postmortem) or by themselves (premortem or is it perimortem?).
I have two things to say:
- Eating people is wrong. (I know this because it was a quotation in a board game we used to have).
- Stop It!
