Random fact about me

October 22, 2006 · 5 Comments

My sp9 hostess (yes hostesses have hostesses) is having a contest. She will take the random facts about her group that they post on their blogs, and then have a vote about which is the favorite.

Here’s my random fact.

When I was in grade 10, I was a dancer for the Opening of the Canada Winter Games. One of our dances was a soft shoe on showshoes. And we danced in front of the then-Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.

How’s that for a claim to fame? And can you guess what year that was?

I’ll give you a hint–it was in Brandon, Manitoba.

Chocolate swap goodies

October 22, 2006 · 4 Comments

A big thanks to my Chocolate Swap partner Marion. She was SO incredibly thoughtful in putting together the package. There were treats for the kids:

which did not last long. Next, there were lots of muchies for me–cookies, candy, coffee, chocolate bars–and wonderful yarn, a handmade pin, postcards of her hometown Talinn, and this wonderful (and not blurry in real life) mitten pattern book.

Thanks again, Marion.  I hope your package arrives soon!  Next time I know to send it as soon as the swap starts.

BFO contest winner

October 22, 2006 · 2 Comments

Thanks to all my sp9 club who participated. Out of 60 in my group, 23 posted a BFO (best finished object). I’m glad I had the random number generator, because you ladies have your knitting goin’ on. I couldn’t have chosen one because I love them all. Beautiful things–beaded scarves, award-winning felted bags, lace shawls, baby dresses. Oh my goodness. Feel free to send any and all of them my way. And be proud of yourselves. Really proud.

And the winner is: Amy. Thanks for playing! And my nine-year old says (and I agree), “Whoa, she’s pretty!” Email me (wolindaATmacDOTcom), Amy, and we’ll figure out which yarn from my stash will work for you.
